19 Feet of Clay Another of the watch books finds Sam Vimes investigating a series of seemingly pointless murders, such as that of some harmless old men and the curator of the Dwarf Bread Museum, who is found bludgeoned to death with one of his own exhibits. Also, someone is poisoning the Patrician, Lord Vetinari, and Sam can’t figure out how they are doing it. The golems of the city are also behaving oddly, normally they work tirelessly, forever without complaining, in Feet of Clay they are committing suicide – the City Watch is inundated with new cases, it’s as if the more recruits they take on the more crimes are being discovered. We also see in this novel the dwarf, Cheery Littlebottom, forensic expert and something else to boot; plus there's a werewolf in the watch suffering from moon-related issues, and good old Nobby has discovered he’s the Earl of Ankh and lords it up no end. | | | |
