7 Pyramids A stand alone novel that finds the protagonist, Teppic, studying the sneaky arts at the Assassins’ Guild, where he’s been sent by his father to broaden his horizons a little. Teppic originates from the very ancient desert kingdom of Djelibeybi. The story starts out with Teppic taking the Assassins’ exam, a test where failure results in death. Soon after the test he learns that his father has died, making him the new pharaoh and also a god. Returning to his homeland as a ruler he discovers that the real decisions are made by the old High Priest, Dios. Many believe this to be Pratchett’s best written novel, taking the reader on adventures with mummies, pyramid, crypts and ancient magic.
