    With the implied addendum being "has been demonstrated'. Sometimes people suggest it stands for 'Quite Easily Demonstrated'.

    Doesn't it really stand for "Quod Erat Demonstrandum" or something.

    And please forgive my Latin, haven't studied it in a while and I'm not sure I got the ending on the D word right.
