I was wondering if it was just me or if Equal Rites not as good as the rest of the books so far?

So far, I've only read 5 Discworld books (the first 4 and Thud!). Does the Witches group of books from Discworld improve?

I love the humour when nanny ogg and weatherwax talk about magrat being a sex symbol, hilerious.The three witches have got the be my favourite charaters,I found it hard to read other books without them in.

l loved the bit in Maskerade when Granny plays poker with Death.

Now l know Death did not "lose" as such, but the way he admited defeat was just wonderful.

l smiled when l read it and possibly shed a tear at Mr Pratchetts wonderful sentimental side.

Who is Destiny? One of the Anthropomorphic Personifications or Gods, presumably, but what is his/her function? Apparently not Fate, because in WS, talking to King Verence Death refers to "FATE. DESTINY. ALL THE REST OF THEM" leaving him to pass on the news that the King is to become a ghost. I'm sure there's another quote whether Death refers to having an appointment with Destiny. So,...

But when I ran out of Discworld books, I decided to give the rest of the Witch Series a try and that was a good decision, because they stood up far better than I thought they would.

In fact in some ways, I think they are better than the Death...

He manages to cover such deep ideas in just a handfull of stentances. I love the way that Granny seemed to turn whatever Oats said or believed on his head with one simple line. I loved the way the characters interacted with each other. This was definalty the best section of the book and i think one of the best ever.
