Dunno if you've seen em yet Mal, not even sure who dealt with one of em, but there's a couple of spam posts that've been moved to the dungeon dimensions.
Could someone ban xtoster's account please? (Well, Mal is the only one who could I suppose... ) His spam post was doubly annoying because he put it at the end of an old thread, bumping it to the front page.
That last one was pretty cool; they got deleted, email and IP banned, while they were still on the site.
It's not spam, like Hsing says it's just a funny link. It just looks odd because it's Japanese and the characters don't translate for the link title.
and another one. like anyone's left in the world who hasn't seen britney spears' shaved vagina. by the way... vagina means scalp, right?
bolshakko should be... banned. Amongst other things. (This one even posted pictures... Not work safe... Can spam bots actually do that?)
I don't think spam bots are always doing the actual posting, just the signing up, they have to verify their email address. I had a feeling that bolshakko was going to turn out to be a spammer, if you google the name it comes up in a lot of forums with no posts, but I wasn't sure so I just left it to wait and see. Every time someone does this their email domain, unless it's a popular one, gets added to the list of banned addresses, so their bot sign up programs can't sign up with that email address, and their IP gets banned too. There's always going to be people trying to get links to their sites though, we can't dop much about it apart from keep stopping them, and adding their details to the ban list.
